What a month!

December 2014 has been an extraordinary month.

Not only did I finish the copy-edits for my second psychological thriller THE LIE (not that extraordinary in itself but definitely a reason to be cheerful) and receive the proofs (which I adore)…

…but Home for Christmas, the romantic comedy I wrote back in 2010, was made into a film and screened in Brighton, London, Swansea, Bristol and Liverpool (you can read about it here). I was part of several Q&A sessions with the cast, and introduced the film in Bristol.

And then I found out that THE ACCIDENT has now sold in excess of 150,000 copies when my wonderful publishers Avon HarperCollins sent me a beautiful, frame cover to celebrate the achievement…

…and that it was the 10th best selling debut of 2014 according to The Bookseller:

I’ve also attended several writer parties, Madeleine Milburn’s agency party (so lovely to meet her other authors) and my final work party. I’m giving up the day job to write full time in 2015 and I’m excited and terrified in equal measures.  If I could go back in time and tell my eight year old self (who sent a ‘book’ to Penguin publishers and received her very first rejection) I don’t think she’d believe it…

Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas and a wonderful 2015.

Congratulations. I loved the first book. Just because its good doesn’t mean it will do well. I so happy to see the magnitude of your success. Can’t wait for the new book.
