With less than two months to go until the publication of my tenth psychological thriller EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE (28th March 2024), I am ridiculously excited to be able to show you the cover.
There was so much love for the cover of THE GUILTY COUPLE, and such high expectations to come up with something that would match it – in terms of being eye catching but also a similar look and feel – that it took a long time, and a lot of too-ing and fro-ing before we all agreed that THIS is the perfect cover for EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE…
I think it has a similar look and feel to THE GUILTY COUPLE – black and white but with a splash of colour to the title – whilst also capturing the heart-in-mouth tension ofthe book. The book opens with a woman running through the London Underground to try and escape her stalker and the image on the cover suggests exactly that.
But EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE isn’t your typical book about stalking…
Like THE GUILTY COUPLE it’s about fighting back, and that was important to me. Having been stalked myself, fifteen years ago, I know how powerless you can feel and how terrifying it is to lose control of your own life.
In the back of the book there’s an author letter from me which describes my experience of stalking, and how I found a way to regain some control. I used technology to monitor my stalker’s location and that knowledge allowed me to leave my house without fear, for small snatches of time at least.
That’s very similar to what the characters do in this book. After one of them is murdered they decide to place trackers on each other’s stalkers to keep each other safe. Only it doesn’t exactly go to plan…
